OUR MAN salvages lumber to build the fence that blocks view of trailer from street and sides, and the deck in back that faces the vast desert. Builds a fire pit not far beyond the desk. Leaves an opening in the road-facing fence for car entry/exit to/fro port, wide enough for Suburban and his old 911. Fashions gate for opening. He improves the landing at the front (door), adds awning and bench, astroturf beyond. He'll meet THE KID (through mom, through animal shelter) before work is complete, offer him a job re helping. KID takes him up on the offer. Our Man has a beer nearby throughout home improvement.
