This has been tapping my shoulder for awhile; now, given taking a break from Honda Knot, feels like a good time - the right time - to set it in motion.
A writer rents a cabin in the woods to finish her novel. The house is haunted, the subtler signs of which greet her mostly immediately upon her arrival. The property includes a (covered) well (concealed by foliage), pond. (with fish), and the detached structure she will turn it into her writing studio. (She'll hire a Handyman.) (Poor, poor Handyman.)
She, 50-something, relatively recently divorced, no children, arrives early spring, small patches of snow on the ground. The driveway is a dirt road from the gate at the two-lane highway.
Her name is Daphne. We meet her where she lives in a Big City High-Rise.
