EXT. ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE/ OAK WOODS - DAY
Gil at the wheel, Hunter passenger in the ATV parked at a view to surrounding forested hills.
HUNTER: Can you tell me anything about Tom and Vietnam?
GIL: Did he talk about it?
HUNTER: Only that he'd been. We were going to pick it up later. What branch?
GIL: Army. First Air Cav. Got our draft cards the same day.
HUNTER: You were there?
GIL: Marine.
DISTANT THUNDER.
HUNTER: Would you be willing to talk about it?
GIL: We can do that. How about when you're back.
HUNTER: It's a date. Thank you.
GIL: I have photographs.
HUNTER: I'd love to see them.
GIL: I'll introduce you to Dale, a good friend of ours.
HUNTER: He knows about me?
GIL: He does not. Can't wait to see his face when you introduce yourself. Big buck at your three a clock.
Hunter slowly turns to the WHITETAIL DEER seeming to stare back at them from behind a tree.
HUNTER: Did Tom hunt?
GIL: He did. Got his first deer here. His thirteenth birthday. Us and our dads. Got pictures of that, too. You ever hunt, Hunter?
HUNTER: No.
GIL: Fish?
HUNTER: Trout pond when I was a kid. I saw his Wyoming and Texas licenses in the glove compartment.
